It certainly has been a very snowy winter. We apparently received about 38cm of snow in the Region on Friday and Saturday, possibly even breaking total winter snowfall record from the winter of 1923-1924. That record was 245.3 cm of snow. I sure am ready for some warmer weather though! Although it is very pretty with the sun shining on fresh snow.
I haven't even been doing much shoveling, as Rob does most of it, so I am rather spoiled. I did help a little on Saturday night and Sunday morning. In our neighbourhood, it is during snowstorms that we see and chat with our neighbours. Many people don't bother with flower gardens, and don't spend a lot of time outside in the summer, but we all have to shovel snow, whether we like it or not. And our neighbourhood has been shoveling as you can see in this picture.
Rob ran out of room to pile all the snow during the snowstorm this past Wednesday already, so he and our next door neighbour have been pushing it across the road. The wheelbarrow comes in handy there. It made for a big pile over there too!
And as you can see, the piles on either side of our driveway are taller than the car.
For the rest, life keeps on at a steady pace. Rob and I are both busy with work, with life in the church, keeping up the house, etc. We've taken a couple of "snow days" the past few months, where we both work from home. Rob works from home more often, but on the snowy days I do as well - it is not worth so many hours in the car. It is rather cosy actually, as we usually can work together in our office, each at our own desk. We manage not to disturb each other too much, and it is a treat to have lunch together.
And of course, we cannot forget the Mindy kitty. Who really does whatever she feels like, and if you have any doubts about that, check out this picture!
