Rock Lake Lodge 2011

The third week of August we had the privilege of spending a few days at Rock Lake Lodge with the A. family!  Rob and I left home very early Wednesday morning and arrived at the lodge in time for morning coffee.  And a nap.   We had a wonderful few days, and it was great to be together again with everyone.   Mom & Dad, Rich & Cher , Jo and all Mom & Dad's grandkids were at the lodge of the whole week.  We came Wednesday and Steve came Wednesday night.  Then on Thursday night S and P came so on Friday we numbered twenty-one people!

We played a lot more games than previous years - in the evenings after the younger kids were in bed, and also during the day there was some volleyball and soccer.  This is the first time we've been to the Lodge in the summer (all the other years it was September) so it was a bit warmer weather.  Every day a large group went swimming after supper - after a rousing treasure hunt or soccer game.  Of course there was swimming during the day too.
We did not get a lot of pictures...but I think Jo & Cher did, so check their blogs soon for their Rock Lake Lodge posts.

Matthew liked this game of ripping all the dead leaves of this broken branch, one by one, and laughing with Uncle Rob when each would break off.

This is a group of us during our Wednesday night post-treasure hunt swim.

Rob picked me a lily from Lily Lake.  When he gave it to me he told me it had a "$100 stem" and it did...the stem was about a foot and a half long!  Like any grateful wife, I just chopped the stem off. :)
The lily did very well floating in water - the flower closed each evening but opened again in the morning.

Those are some of the highlights of our time at Rock Lake Lodge.  It was great to spend time with the whole family, to see Rich & Cher, Luke, Laura, Caleb, Corin & Yvetta again.  They'll be back in Winnipeg soon and we probably won't see them again until next summer.  At least we have blogs! :)

Haha - I had forgotten about your lily with the $100 stem :) Can you e-mail me the pic of us 4 sisters? I could take it from the blog (I think....) but is it better quality if you e-mail it? Good times, eh?
