My Favourite Things Monday

Today it is all about My Favourite Thanksgiving things! Thelma wrote about stuffing last week - I do love stuffing.  I remember as a kid I would never eat stuffing, I thought it looked terrible.  Then one year, I think I was in my teens, I finally tried it.  And LOVED it.  I still regret all those years where I refused to try it!

This year I cooked a turkey for the first time.   Steve & Jo & kids,  Rob's parents and sister came over, and we had a wonderful afternoon.  So wonderful in fact, that we only have one picture.

The turkey, just out of the oven, complete with stuffing that was indeed very yummy.  (Made from scratch.  I have NEVER used so much butter when frying vegetables before.  I guess that is one of the reasons why stuffing is so good!)

Mom A and my sisters-in-law contributed veggies, salads, desserts to the meal, so all in all it was a wonderful meal and the work shared between us.  The bonus for me, having cooked the turkey, was I also was able to make a big pot of turkey soup on the following day!

I do think that the stuffing is also my favourite part of the Thanksgiving meal.   But I also appreciate time with family, and although we did not this year, we often go for a walk to enjoy the weather and beautiful fall colours!

Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
Psalm 136:1

Have a great Monday, y'all!
