My Favourite Things: Monday

Well, it is Monday again, and it has been a Monday or three since I've done a My Favourite Things: Monday post.  During the my blogging hiatus, I've been thinking about this series.  It is a lot of fun, and I'm going to keep playing.  But I'm going to play a week behind Thelma.  That gives me a week to ponder what I want to write about, and do what I need to do (wash my car, make a certain recipe, etc) to make the posts just fabulous.  ha!

Thelma took a week off last week as she was globe-trotting, so that bought me an extra week this time.  Which is excellent, since the theme is our favourite things about autumn, and I really wanted to wait another week or two to prepare for this blog post :) .  One of the things I like about autumn is decorating.  I usually only decorate our home for fall and Christmas, so it is always exciting to get out the decorations each fall.

Even more exciting this fall is we are living in a new house, so I can experiment with the decor items!  We have a fireplace complete with a mantel, so that's where I started. 

I bought these 'Give Thanks' blocks last year, and I love them.  Throw in some more fall colours and voila!  An autumn mantel.  Since American Thanksgiving isn't until the end of November, I figure I can leave my fall decor out until then, and then move right into the Christmas decorations!

It seems that fall is a favourite season for many people.  I do like fall - the glorious sunny days and the lovely colours, but spring is still my favourite season.
