This is my back yard:
This is a shed:
Well. It's actually the pick-up. But what's in it is a shed-in-a-package. It's just the most practical and cost-effective way to build a wooden shed without having to go though the design phase. They dropped it into the back with a forklift, and I couldn't close the tailgate even though it would have fit. Since I could not push it forward, I had to keep it in with a ratchet strap. In the picture far above, Dad and I had begun to create the base for the floating slab on an end-of-July Saturday. It had rained in the morning, but by the end of the afternoon, we had purchased the stones, dug the hole, filled in the gravel, and were leveling. Then we went to D's for supper. On the following Monday, I put in the patio stones after some leveling which I wasn't too picky about. With the patio laid out, I could begin to build. Wow! I was (pretending to be) a framer again!
The evenings progress.
The days get shorter.
No top plates? Hmm. Right. No problem! It's just a simple shed. Not a house! But the floor was an actual floor, with miniature 2x4 "joists".
The rains force the odd clean-up-the-tools-in-the-rain.
The plans are confusing.
But eventually, it all comes together. It was even level.
Marvelous.
There is a beautiful wife behind the camara.
Karen had to hold the roof supports because I couldn't for the life of me nail them in alone. It just looked so wrong to have the feminine vessel holding them! But, they had to build that way in Little House on the Prairie book, Pa all by himself, and I wasn't about to call someone to drive all the way to Paris -- that evening!

Cool picture below. Nice job, Karen!
Karen covers all the angles:
It's time to hang the doors! I think I was running that evening.
Recognize any of the tools, all ye bachelor-party poopers?
It's actually a shed. Amazing.
Karen took pictures of the final project today. Yesterday, I replaced the lock for the third time. They sent me the second one, the replacement for the first, which was also defective. I said, "Forget it, I'm cutting my loss and putting on a pad-lock!" I had the idea to put the on the original too to serve as wind-resistant "latches", and the second one was sent to me as a replacement, so it will have to make do, and it's all good in the end.
