Tulips

In the fall of 2008 I planted tulip bulbs, and in the spring of 2009, the tulips were a welcome sign of spring!

I left the bulbs in the ground over the summer, and was anticipating the tulips this spring.  My anticipation has been largely in vain.  I'm not sure if the bulbs just died, or the squirrels dug them out, but this is what came up this year:

One lonely little tulip.  There are a couple plants on each end as well, but I'm not sure if they will get a flower yet, or not.
