Gratitude Friday
I have mixed emotions today. I'm thankful that the journey to British Columbia that Dad, Mom and Lisa are on is progressing according to schedule and without incident. I'm thankful Lisa has the opportunity to pursue further education. The fact that her chosen institution is 5000km away? Not liking that so much! :)
Apparently there isn't much to do in northern Ontario, so the trio is getting inventive in their search for evening entertainment, once in their hotel. Last night, they tortured a poor toaster to the extent that it set off the smoke alarm in the hotel room - all in hopes of getting firetrucks and police to come to provide them a distraction from the 4 walls of their hotel room! All for nought, as no emergency personnel came to their rescue! *1*
Today is also the day that Pastor V is being installed as pastor and undershepherd in the congregation in W. Mixed emotions on that one too...it is really starting to sink in that the V. family is no longer in our congregation, but I am thankful that God has provided this new area of service for them, and provided the congregation of W. with a faithful servant of the Word.
*1* I took a page out of Lisa's "book" and gave myself some literary license in the re-telling of this story :)
