It is Friday again!?! There's one "F"-themed item I forgot to mention last time, and that was free time! Thanks to my part-time hours and the Services Canada WorkShare program I am part of, I had nearly a week off a couple weeks ago. I normally work Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays. However, I had a Workshare day on a Thursday, then my Friday off, then another Workshare day on the Monday, then my regular Tuesday off - so that all adds up to almost a week off! Of course, it was over the very crazy weekend when I last posted, involving a move, a reunion and more. But enjoyed nonetheless. Actually, this past week I only worked two days too, due to Canada Day on Wednesday. So this coming week is the first week in three that I will actually work three days!
Today, I'm thankful the ants are gone! We had ants invade our home this week, but we found where they were coming in, and barricaded their entrance. Our neighbour may have sprayed for them as well, as they were coming from his garage. Of all insects, ants are near the top of the list least abhorrent, but I still do not like them in our home!
I'm also glad all over again that our backyard is done and looks so nice. We have a group of dear friends over tonight for a BBQ, unfortunately the weather is not the greatest for that, however, our backyard does look mighty-fine!
Which also reminds me, I haven't blogged about all the work that was done in the front yard!
Here's the photo-story.
Before # 1 Before #2
Work in Progress # 3
Our new sidewalk is in!
Since there were still gaps between the grass and the new sidewalk, on one side we planted a row of petunias....
and on the other side we put in grass seed, and it is flourishing! We're going to keep working on this little piece of grass, weeding and over-seeding.
We just put petunias in on this side, as our neighbour is considering widening his driveway with interlocking stone or something, but that won't be until next year, so for this year, we put in the flowers. We would like to still have some plants down the middle, perhaps a combination of annuals and perennials.
