However, before the wedding on Saturday, there was the rehearsal on Friday evening. We met at the E. home for supper and then headed to the church for the rehearsal. That was quite a bit of fun. Here's Mark & Rachael practicing :) (The graininess is courtesy of our camera, which seems to be dying).
Rob was one of the best men in the wedding party, as was Jon. Having spent so much time with Jon and Rob most of his life, Mark just couldn't decide! :) Rob slept at Mark's Friday night, with the rest of the guys in the wedding party, so I was home alone for the night. It has been awhile since that has happened!
Saturday dawned clear and sunny, and although it was a cool day, the sunshine was wonderful!
The wedding ceremony was beautiful. Pastor Ludt gave an encouraging and a challenging message, Mark and Rachael's wedding text is Joshua 24:15b: "as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." What a great God we serve, a "God whose middle name is goodness".
While the wedding party went off for pictures, I went home for a little while, and Denise came over for a brief visit. We keep our house pretty cold on Saturday if we're not home, and as we were only here for about half an hour, it wasn't worth turning up the heat. So Denise and I settled down for a little chat, having wrapped ourselves up in blankets, with a cup of hot chocolate!
The reception was very enjoyable as well. Good fellowship, good food, and good fun with a couple skits, a slide show and some speeches.
Rob and I...
The E. family...so you can see the girls' dresses. The red with Rachael's white dress and the guys' black tux's looked sharp!
The happy couple!
The happy couple!
We are so thrilled for Mark & Rachael, and we pray that God will bless them abundantly together. Thank you, Mark & Rachael, for inviting us to share in your special day!

Indeed it was a lovely day, and I thank you again Karen for making it lovely for me as well by looking after me in my "alone" moments! I thought the quick visit was great and I thank you for thinking of it!
