Yesterday was a Snow Day - both church services were cancelled due to the weather - the church was even without power in the morning. It made for a very strange Sunday. Rob and I had our own little service in the morning at home, listening to a sermon of Pastor Vogel's that we missed while at the cottage. SermonAudio.com may have been a busy place yesterday! For a second service, we went to my parent's, where the plan was to listen to the Hamilton FRC service by phone. However, apparently that service was cancelled, as it never started over the phone, so we listened to a recent sermon that Rev. VanEssen preached in St. George FRC. So, while we did have the privilege of hearing two sermons, it was still a very different Sunday and we missed the fellowship with our brothers & sisters in Christ.
It was also a bit of work to get to my parents too. Our street had not been plowed, and there was a lot of snow on the road. We did get stuck a couple of times, so I drove and Rob pushed. With a couple of pushes and a bit of forward/reverse, we made it out. Rob was chasing the car for a little bit, because I didn't want to stop once we got the car moving. Further down, the road was plowed, so then we could switch spots again, and once out of our subdivision the driving wasn't too bad.
Rob also did a lot of shovelling yesterday. Well, he at least shovelled several times - our driveway is quite short, but there was still a lot of snow to shovel. And it is snowing again today!
This is a picture of Rob's car & driveway before Rob shovelled the first time, and he shovelled out the driveway three times yesterday.
The roof of the garage is in front of our spare bedroom window, and we get a lot of drifted snow up there - it covers nearly half the window! It is a bit difficult to see on this picture though.
The window well around the basement window is pretty much full of snow too!
Here the snow is sticking to the brick - I thought it looked cool.
Lastly, this is the door from the garage to the back yard. There's been a lot of drifting here too - you can see the door's design imprinted in the snow. On the right, that is well over a foot of snow.
