Remembering Summer

In August I took some pictures of our flower gardens as they were in full bloom at the time. Our gardens usually do very well, even the impatiens, which get full afternoon sun, and really are not a sun-loving plant. Although on the hot, hot days, when I come home from work, they often look a little hot and tired :). I didn't get around to posting these pictures in the summer, but I thought I would do it now - now that it is late fall/winter, and summer seems so long ago. Winter can be so very pretty, when there is snow on the ground and the sun is shining. But other days can be so dark and dreary. I always rejoice to see the sun any time between November and February! Anyways, here's a small reminder that we had a warm, sunny summer, and according to God's promise, we can look forward to spring and summer again next year.

"While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night,
Shall not cease."
Genesis 8:22

And in the meantime, let's enjoy winter!
