Photo Scavenger

It is week 8 in the Photo Scavenger game, and I have a submission again this week.  This can be fun - I'm not such a great photographer so I try to think of unique things to photograph.  Last week, I seemed to manage both!  According to Thelma I earned some "serious points" for my "something blue" picture.  Here I thought I was bringing the blog to new lows by featuring recycle bins, only to learn that on that picture "the perspective and depth is lovely".

Of course, such praise went straight to my head, so, I thought that this week maybe I would try to take a picture of a creative object AND apply some photographic skill to the pictures being taken.  The success of this is yet to be determined, but it would serve me quite right to have none of my pictures featured this week! :)   And honestly, I'd be okay with that!

The clues for the week are:

Your favourite footwear
An open door
Something that changes shape

Here's my submissions.

Favourite footwear:  This clue really deserves some photographic creativity, but I didn't give it any.  But I do like my lined crocs - these are my slippers -and they are nice and warm!

An open door - I tried, I really did try to get the lighting to do some neat things.  I wanted to take this picture in the morning with the sunlight streaming in through the windows.  But it was much easier said than done; I took and deleted a great many pictures as I was preparing to wind the clock this morning.   In the end, I chose this picture since there is a reflection of a lamp in the open door of the clock.

Something that changes shape - a cake!  I always think it is fascinating how you put a pan of thick batter in the oven and some amount of time later you take out something larger, fluffier, and usually yummier!  (Though batter can be very good sometimes!)  The bottom picture in the collage is after icing the cake.

Thanks for hosting Thelma - it's fun!
