Here are some long-promised pictures of our new home!
I took this picture standing in the doorway of the front door. The living room is straight ahead, the kitchen ahead on the left. On the immediate left is the dinning room, which we are using for our den/office. To the right is a hallway leading to the bedrooms, a bathroom, and the stairs to the basement.
The green paint is going to go (sorry Lisa!). I'm having a great deal of difficulty in deciding on a new colour. I would like to go with a more neutral colour, leaning towards brown (rather than yellow, grey or green). I had mostly decided on a colour, and then Rob replaced many of the incandescent light bulbs with flourescent lights. The paint chip turned pink! We don't want pink. I'm glad the light bulbs were replaced before we painted, and not after. I'm now vascillating between two other paint chips. And yes, if you see funny spots on the walls in any of these pictures, they are paint chips!
This is our den/office. It is currently a yellow colour, but we are going to paint it the same colour as the living room/kitchen/hallway.
The kitchen, with the dinette behind it. Beyond that there is a small covered porch.
A closer shot of the living room. Once our new furniture arrives, the yellow chair will go downstairs.
This picture is of the kitchen/dinette, while standing in the living room.
The front foyer, with our den beyond, from the living room.
This is the master bedroom. Yes, the shears/blind are wine coloured, and our bedding is red. It really does look marvelous! I've ordered a new blind, you can actually see the tube on the floor in front of the window, but it needs to be installed yet. I'm also planning on converting the curtains from the master bedroom in our old house into a valance to hang above the window. I'm not sure when I'll get to that though.
This room has also not been painted at all; it is still the builder's white. We would like to paint it eventually, but it is not a high priority right now.
The master bedroom ensuite. It has a soaker tub and a stand-up shower. This room is also unpainted. I would like to paint/decorate this room sometime too. Right now I'm just having constant debates in my head as to what family of colours I should choose. Does the decor in an ensuite always flow from the master bedroom or could I switch it up completely?
On the main floor there is also a second bedroom, which Rob is using for his work office, and a full bathroom. The basement is partially finished. There is a rec room, bedroom and full bathroom that are fully finished. Then there's the laundry room, utility room and a large storage room. Lots of storage space! Which is wonderful has we have quite a number of unpacked boxes still...
We also had to get a new lawnmower - isn't this a beauty?
On Saturday, Rob made its inaugural run!
So, that's our house for now. We haven't unpacked everything yet, since we plan to paint the main living areas sooner rather than later. We have ideas for changing some of the landscaping too, and although we want to try to do everything at once, we just can't! However, it will be fun to work at different things inside and outside over time. We've been here for about a week and a half now, but it is starting to feel like our home. Even without all our pictures on the walls. Now, if only I could decide on a paint colour...

The house looks really nice! I am glad you are feeling like it is home. We are looking forward to seeing it and the new paint color!
Looks great! I actually really like the existing paint colour (besides the painter's white) - maybe I'm looking too hard at all the work of making paint changes! Glad all went well and you're in there and feeling at home. Even the kitty will come to feel at home soon :)
I agree. It looks great already! But it is fun to change things to make it your own! Have fun!
Great photos! Can't wait to see it next month! ♥
