But we didn't change our penchant for a big pile of gifts - the bigger the better! If you have several items for a single person, you wouldn't dream of wrapping them together. Separately. Every single one.
Lisa went "green" with her wrapping paper this year...the ads that come in the mail from car dealerships make fine wrapping paper indeed!
The rest of these pictures are in no particular order.
Alex became quite adept at opening presents by the end of the afternoon. He would faithfully give each little piece of paper he ripped off to Karin.
Karin's favourite colour is orange - I think she gets some new orange apparel every year - this year some beautiful orange clogs! :)
We all know how much Rob loves ice cream! Arian & Karin gave him this special dish for enjoying his ice cream. I think his expression is to show how happy he is :) Bring on the ice cream!
Rob also received a ladder - this will be a very handy addition to our home! Thank you to Dad, Mom & Lisa! As ladders are difficult to wrap, a hockey jersey of Dad's from years gone by was put to work. Afterall, next to ice cream, Rob loves hockey. Or does hockey rank over ice cream?
Dad received a bicycle bag - a small bag with many pockets and features to use while cycling. Complete with reflectors, which almost looks like fire in Dad's right hand...
Arian & Karin gave Alex a table & chair set. Only the one chair was brought to Mom & Dad's. Here's Alex unwrapping the chair.
And now testing it out!
The mess we made, unwrapping our gifts...don't worry, we cleaned it up too!
Lisa wanted a picture with her siblings and a few of their gifts...here we all are!
Mom does a great job decorating their home each year for the Christmas season - isn't this pretty?
After dinner, we did some singing. But sometime before that, Rob and Alex provided some music for our appreciation and entertainment.
So, a good time was had by all, and a big thank you, dear family, for the lovely gifts we received. Praise God for the gift of family!
