Building a Deck - Parts 2 & 3

For the past two Saturday's, Dad A. has been over, and together he and Rob have been working on our deck. On the 19th, the weather was beautiful, and I left the patio door open most of the day, just keeping the screen door closed. Mindy Kitty spent quite a long time meowing to be let out - she wanted to help too!

On the 19th, they mostly finished the base for the deck. Then on the 26th, they finished the base, and started laying the decking planks across. This goes slower than you might think. Dad was also devising a little trap door over the hose tap.

However, the deck is far enough along that we could sit on it yesterday morning after church!

Enjoying our deck already! The deck was about 19' x 8' here, and tonight Rob has added another few rows, so it is probably 19' x 9' now!
